I've been wanting to take videos of my RC car while driving but its too difficult to hold my phone while trying to use the transmitter with one hand. I designed this adjustable phone holder that mounts to the battery cover of your Traxxas TQ radio transmitter. Simple remove the stock battery cover off the controller and slide this 3d printed one in its place. Attach the adjustable phone holder with the 3d printed bolt then simply back out the adjusting screw till you can fit your cellphone into the mount. Tighten the adjusting screw which gently squeezes your phone between the jaws of the phone holder. The clamp holds the phone very securely which allows you to freely operate and record your RC car in action! I use my Iphone 11 Pro Max which is a big phone and it easily fits. Works great for smaller sized phones too.

These 3d printed parts print fairly easy but the battery cover mount does require supports. 0.3 layer height or better is recommended. 20% infill for a strong print.

  • some thin foam or sponge could be glued on each clamp where it contacts the phone to provide a nice soft cushion but i have not had any problems without.
