Don’t know which mad wizard invented these cube shaped dungeon-cleaning slimes, but they certainly have become kind of iconic. This one prints out hollow so you can use it to capture unfortunate PCs.
Dark-Platypus Studio specializes in making models for role-playing game enthusiasts. Our models are designed to be printed in 28mm scale, the perfect size for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or other games that are often played on a 1” grid. They are also designed to stand up to actual tabletop use: no ridiculous spindly bits that look awesome but are going to break the first time someone sneezes. Paintability and ease of assembly are also important concerns to our design aesthetic.
The Gelatinous Cube was created as part of the Slimes! Kickstarter. It is designed to be printed as a “Large Model, which will fit on a 2” rectangular base. Looks particularly awesome in translucent green resin.
The top and the sides print separately to avoid surface scars from the supports. Use some superglue or some resin with a 405nm pen laser to glue the top on and your cube is good to go! With translucent resins, a layer of glosscote on both outside and inside of the cube will increase transparancy.
