This is a set of STL files to 3D print Hex Terrain Tiles for Battletech from Catalyst Games & FASA Games. These tiles are the same size of the hexes on official Battletech battle maps. These hex tiles are designed to have 3 mm ball magnets inserted into them so they will be magnetized to neighboring hex tiles and to your game surface if it works with magnets such as a magnetic white board. The Hex Tiles included in this set are:

• 7 Single Hex Encrusted Magma Hex Tiles
• 1 4 Hex Encrusted Magma Hex Tile
• 1 7 Hex Encrusted Magma Hex Tile
• 1 Volcanic Vent Hex Tile
• 1 Light Rock Formation Hex Tile
• 1 Heavy Rock Formation Hex Tile

Rules For This Terrain:

Encrusted Magma Terrain Tiles: I use the rules on page 34 of the Battletech: Tactical Operations Advanced Rules. If you are looking for an "Open Lava" terrain tile from the Encrusted Magma Rules I suggest using one of my water tiles (without the reminder text). I did this and printed them with orange PLA filament. Worked great.

Volcanic Vent: Treat as impassible terrain and a level 1 obstruction for line of sight. Add +5 to heat in all adjacent hexes.

Rock Formations: treat as woods for terrain rules. Somethng more environment themed for desert/barren battlefields. These tiles are designed to allow miniatures to be placed on top of them to represent the mech being in the terrain.

UPDATE 03/21/2023: I have added to and modified this listing. Added multiple versions of the encrusted magma tiles and made a light and heavy rock formation tiles. I also redid the above suggested rules. All the new files are in the Badlands V2 zip file. All the original files are still included if you prefer those. The updated files are only done in my Maghex design. I only do Maghex hex tiles now.

UPDATE 05/04/23: I redesigned the light and heavy rock formation. This was another early and sloppy design that I cleaned up so it take up less memory and takes a lot less time to print.
