The oldest race of tyrants and rulers of the galaxy. While this race tortured the galaxy with its ambitions and thirst for power, one of the young races was able to rise up and throw off the rule of the Forerunners. After the defeat, the Forerunners retreated to their homeworld outside the arms of the galaxy. The only way into it is through a single wormhole, but it was de-energized. The Forerunners are sitting in their world and saving up their strength for a triumphant return.
