3D model description

xyzprinting filament temperature adjustment to print nylon filament with stock firmware

finally have this dialed in the included picture is a buckle i printed in nylon
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:312961

use ABS cartridge setting

i have finally got a roll of gizmo dork nylon

i have added a 500 ohm resistor parallel to the 500 ohm pot to make the range of the 500 ohm pot to 250 ohms giving a more accurate adjustments
actually the resistor i used is 560 ohms my resistor pack goes from 450 ohms to 560 ohms so not even sure you can buy a 500 ohm resistor so anything close will work

for gizmo dorks nylon set the pot to 190 ohms which is little more than half way on the knob that should be around realy realy scary hot at 290c to 300c this filament requires that high or it will not adhear to lower layers in the amazon comments section it is also mentioned that they where having problems with this filament at normal nylon settings
mid settings on the adjuster should be for normal nylon

then work back and forth till you get the best prints there is still some stringing but not bad enough that it cant be cleaned up i am not sure if this is common with nylon or just this brand of nylon or i nead to do something else like change nozzle dia

i was using the xyzware demo 3dprinter for testing but it seems that this nylon filament is horrabel with realy thin 1 layer vertical walls

so use a demo with thick walls for adjusting the temp

you can use xyzware to get the exact temp by switching the bypass switch in or out
xyzware monitor mode is realy slow to update so you will have to wait till the temp change in xyzware

parts required
1- 500ohm pot
1- 500 ohm resistor
1- single pole single throw toggle switch small radio shack type bypass switch

note i tried to put a knob on the pot but it hit the back of the printer and i believe that it would be better not to have a knob to keep from axadently moving it

this theory will work on any printer that you have no control of the print head temp i am pretty sure that xyzprinting is the only company that is practicing this none sense
