3D model description

this is a learning sample of how to print multi colors on a single color printer
i have chosen the American Flag as most would appreciate this as far as our brother and sisters in other country's just use it as a example

the stars are still not very recognizable in the size it is but you can make it larger and that will increase the detail of the stars

first thing is you must turn off the auto centering of your slicer

i am using xyzware as my slicer and the setting to check is in the settings then the editor tab then uncheck import objects with auto position

i don't know where s3d or the other slicer settings are you will have to find it in your slicer

the trick is a old printing press process that news papers and magazines use is markers around the perimeter of the print one for each color printed with 3d printing you do not nead a different marker for each color but you must use the same markers with all the color layers

i have included the project files in a zip file so you can experiment and understand how i mad this flag

i used inkskape and 123d to make the stars and blue background into a stl from a image then the main program i used is xyzmaker

xyzmaker has stars but i wanted a exact copy of a real flag for the star pattern
i did not recreate the stars i used a image of a flag to transfer the blue and white stars
