3D model description

Rattlesnake Topper ($7 Cane/Walking Hiking Sticks)

Thingiverse won't let me designate the source files any longer, so to give credit:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2759664
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4839997

I have included a Complete file that will require a lot of supports. I also included Left/Right files that also require less supports and easier cleanup if you want to glue them together.

If you want to make a taller stick/staff, grab my 1" cane coupler from here:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3810485

Also, check out my 1" wall mount clips for displaying your canes/sticks: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3845550

You can make an awesome solid oak cane / walking stick for about $7. In addition to the printed topper of your choice you will need a 1” oak dowel which costs about $6 at Home Depot and a 1” rubber leg tip – about $4 for 4 of them. Links below are just for your reference so you know what to buy:

1” Oak Dowel: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Builder-s-Choice-1-in-x-36-in-Oak-Round-Dowel-HDDO136/206184686

1” Leg Tip: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QD30TE

Or, if you want to print your own tip, you can customize one here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4116507

The topper .stl file is sized for the 1” dowel if printed at 100%. If you want to use for a different size stick – just adjust accordingly. I have included the sizing-ring.stl (a small cross-section of the 1" topper) for this. It is a quick print to get the correct percentage adjustment if you are trying to size to a different pole/cane size.

I print at 20% infill and then paint and coat with a 2-part epoxy resin to add the deep gloss and strength.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BM9LHRB

Just print the topper, glue to the finished dowel (sand and clear coat)with desired adhesive (I just use some of the 2-part resin I have mixed up for the final topper coat. You will end up with an awesome walking stick – or more if you are into collecting as I will be doing a lot of these.

If you like this remix, check out the original models listed in the left sidebar.

I have designed almost 700 remixes of various types. If you want to search by the type, check this post as Thinigiverse has lost about half of my designs:
