3D model description

This is a mount to suit a Bondtech/ V6 direct drive, incorporating a hotend shroud and duct for any 40mm axial fan.

NB. This is not compatible with the stock extruder stepper motor. You will need a pancake stepper or it'll hit the X limit switch housing.

In response to feedback the following improvements have been implemented:

All sections of the mounting plate are thicker and stronger. There is also a clamp to secure the mounting plate to the X carriage plate, eliminating any movement due to the moment of the stepper and extruder.
The duct is now secured from both sides eliminating any twist.
The 5015 blower is now secured with both fixings.
There is a notch to accommodate the fixing lugs on the bodies of some 5015 blowers.
The BLTouch can be removed and replaced with a single bolt without disturbing the Z offset.

The effective part cooling nozzle geometry remains identical.

Hardware:

M3 x 8mm 6off
M3 x 10mm 4off
M3 x 12mm 2off
M3 x 12mm 2off
M3 x 25mm 2off
M3 Nyloc nut 10off
M3 nut (standard) 1off
M3 washer 1off
self tapping screws (40mm fan) 4off

There will be instructions with pictures and everything once I can find my crayons...

BLTouch offset is 0,49.0.

18/7/19: A slightly revised version of the Main Mount is uploaded that prints with far fewer supports.

18/7/19: Modified files for the duct and mount added with provision for threaded inserts where appropriate. Holes are dia. 5.05mm with a 8Β° tapered lead in. Just look for the suffix 'Inserts' appended to the file name.

25/7/19: 18mm Inductive sensor mount added.

1/8/19: Volcano duct added.

2/8/19: 8mm dia and 12mm dia inductive sensor mounts added.

2/8/19: V2 of the duct uploaded. The nozzle geometry remains the same, but there are now thicker walls all the way the the nozzle tip to enhance strength and temperature resistance.

3/8/12: V2.1 of the duct uploaded. I missed a potential interference between the duct and silicone sock on the heater block. For anyone who's already printed it out, two minute with a file should give you clearance when lowering the duct to get the nozzle height right.

13/9/19: Volcano BLTouch mount added.

10/5/2020: Mount modified to fit the Ender 5 in addition to other Creality models (Ender3 and CR machines). If needed just let me know and I'll add a version with provision for inserts.
