3D model description

A collection of gear coin with peekaboo detailing made into cool retro key rings to spice up your set of keys and bring a little nerd into your daily lives.

Inspired by Maker Coins but with a slight twist playing with different filaments to make the coolest combinations. The coins with transparent cores are my personal favorite however I'm eager to see what other combinations you all come up with.

Can be accomplished using a single extruder and printing the parts separately. Don't worry I've worked out all the tolerances for you ;-) Printed with a 0.4mm nozzle at STD quality settings (0.16 layer height) using Ender 5 Pro.

Easy print, no supports required for any parts.

Make sure that first layer is perfect (if not slightly closer to the bed is better than further away) so that core and shell part tolerances work out correctly.

Some of these coins (in entire collection) will require a filament change in the center of the "core" part, to achieve desired effect.

Filaments Used:

Fox - Form Futura Transparent Orange & Canadian Maker Series Low Sheen White

Heart - Filamentum Purple Red & Form Futura Transparent Red & Canadian Maker Series Low Sheen White

Panda - Canadian Maker Series Low Sheen White and Black (Both Same brand)

Part 1 - Biohazard - Nuclear - Paw Heart Collection:

More coming soon.

3D printing settings

Make sure that first layer and Z Offset is perfect (if not slightly closer to the bed is better than further away) so that core and shell part tolerances work out correctly.

Can be accomplished using a single extruder and printing the parts separately. Printed with a 0.4mm nozzle at STD quality settings (0.16 layer height) using Ender 5 Pro.

Print the core first then print the shell. Pause the shell at layer 45 then insert the core and continue printing. Make sure to grab any gravity extruded filament as the nozzle starts to continue printing.

Layer Changes/Pauses:

Shell = Layer 45 (insert core)
Core (if required for design) = Layer 12 and 18

Easy print, no supports required for any parts. Print in default orientation for best results.
