3D model description

a revision from my previous Green Lantern's ring design. this version is more look alike the original Green Lantern's ring from the movie.

3D printing settings

i've printed all using PLA transparent colour. i've divided the object into 3 parts so that it will be easier to print and be able to apply different colour on different parts.

to make the ring, you need to print 1xgem.stl, 1xcrown.stl and 2xring.stl. be aware that i designed this in centimetre, the diameter of the ring is 20cm, so you need to scale it down to your own finger size.

to colour the gem parts, i painted a green colour marker onto the transparent PLA before feed it to the printer, so that the colour get fused with the PLA during print and it become permanent. for the crown i mixed the colour with black colour marker - as in picture (resulted dark green colour).

combine the 2 ring parts with super glue. i've painted the outer part of the gem parts using gold marker (coloured the same as the replica). the gem should be able to snap in tightly to the crown parts, you may apply some power glue to make it stay. then combine the crown and ring parts with power glue too .. now you have the green lantern's ring replica.

as you notice there is some space gap below the gem parts, you can slide in a green 0805 SMD led that soldered to a button battery CR-1616, to make it glowing like in the last photos.

i've included the SKP files, please feel free to edit it for adjustment purposes. and don't forget to leave comment if you like this design or if you can give me ideas on what to make next :)
