3D model description

If you notice an issue, I would appreciate getting a comment or message about it.

This is only a small part(X_End_Idler_Idler_Mount) of the original https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3226689 to allow the use of E3Ds Gates idler pulley.

I modified the original STL using blender, so I have no source files to provide. I simply edit the STL when needed. I'm working on learning F360, and will update the model when I can.

Update V0.3 (19 Janary 2019)

Changed status from work in progress to fully published. I'm now using the part and it works great. I will provide an update in the future about the longevity, enjoy!

Update V0.3 [RC] (30 December 2018)

New design, reworked from the original, scrapped all previous versions.
Made the design a lot simpler and the adapter is now a simple cylinder.
The mount still contains guides and bearing center spacer (washer).
I've added more material than removed in this version, so it should be as strong as the original.
Both parts now use the same print settings.
Improved overhang performance for the mount roof.
This is probably the final form of the remix until I start using F360 and even then it mite just be a strait conversion.

Update V0.21 (27 December 2018)

Fixed misaligned vertices in the models.

Update V0.2 (22 December 2018)

Refined the rework to take away less material to keep part strength up.
Removed artefacts I introduced into the model in V0.1 I did this by modifying the original model in a different way to avoid the issue.

I recommend printing the adapter separately to the mount to ensure it's within spec. I have found that printing the adapter along with the mount results in the adapter being out of spec and difficult to push into the idlers bearing.

I modified the original X_End_Idler_Idler_Mount from the Bear Extruder and X axis - MK3 to work with E3D Gates Powergrip® 2GT Toothed Idler 6mm Belt - 20 Tooth - 5mm ID

Despite the 5mm ID you still only need a 3mm shaft like the original.
There is a 3mm to 5mm adapted that fits iside the idler pulley and that then is pushed into the X_End_Idler_Idler_Mount.

I added small guides inside the idler mount to hold and align the idler pulley in place before the 3mm rod is inserted.

I love the Bear upgrade and props goes out to https://www.thingiverse.com/pekcitron/about for its design and continued development!
