3D model description

Organizers for Tekhenu: Obelisk of the Sun board game. All organizers fit the game box, provide quick game setup and comfort during the play.

The set contains: player's item container with a lid, player's board facilities set, card tray, pillar tile container, solo tile organizer and 2 types of resources organizers.

  1. All one player's items are kept in a simple container. The lid with theme relief prevent items from falling out.
  2. The player board is equipped with 2 frames: left and right. They are tight enough to stay in place, still no harm is made to the carton board while inserting. Once they are mounted on the board, 2 inserts can be attached: building plate and statues plate. They are thoroughly designed to fit between frames. Wedges provide them from falling out.
This set delivers great organization on the player's board: all items are accommodated in the right position and there's easy access to them. Frames and plates are thoroughly designed, so they don't cover important information on the board (the only drawings that are hidden are sandglasses). It is really enjoyable solution.
Note 1: The left frame provide the bed for the Production Track, so cubes won't fall off.
Note 2: Holes for pillars have tear shape so no support is needed during the print.

  3. The card tray provides 4 section for different decks: Blessing cards, Technology cards, Decree cards and Starting cards. 4 Destiny cards can be kept with Starting cards. Sloped bottom and indentations provide easy access to cards.

  4. The pillar tile container has special indentations, slanted back wall and serrate bottom to facilitate item draw and to prevent tiles from sliding down.

  5. The solo tile organizer accommodates Botankhamun action tiles, Deben token and Progress marker. There are also 2 slots for Horus bonus tiles. In the middle there's a handle that facilitates taking the organizer out of the game box. This container dimensions are the result of narrow space left next to the player's boards in the game box.

  6. I have designed 2 types of resources organizers: Resources1 and Resources2 - you can decide which suits you better.
With Resources1 all organizers fit he game box very well. It accommodates all resource tiles. All sections have rounded bottom to facilitate item draw.
Resources2 is smaller than Resources1, because it accommodates a half of resource tiles. Thus two of such containers should be 3d printed. They can be placed on 2 sides of the table, so all players have easy access to the tiles during the play. However two Resources2 organizers occupy too much space in the game box and there's a problem with fitting the obelisk there... Well, that's the price I'm willing to pay.
Resource organizers 1 and 2 have different sections layout, but they are both very comfortable.

Tekhenu board game contains a lot of different items. Organizers provide clever accommodation for all of them and help in quick game setup. Reliefs and decorations relate to the game theme to highlight the ancient Egypt atmosphere. Comfort during the play is the priority in this design.

3D printing settings

All organizers were 3Dprinted on Prusa MK3:
- in PLA,
- No support is needed,
- Infill 10-15% rectilinear.
Note1: I use slightly changed default Print settings "0.15mm SPEED MK3" in PrusaSlicer.
Note2: Lid for player's item organizer had special settings: first layer height=0.15mm, Top fill: Monotonic, brim 2mm wide.
Note3: For wider models I use brim 2mm wide or skirt 5 loops with 0.04mm distance and 1 layer high.
Note4: Place frames properly on the printing bed to avoid supports (the last picture shows how to do it).
Note5: I used 0.2mm layer height for card tray. It's faster, still the model looks good.
