3D model description

Please! Please print in PLA or other compostable or biodegradable material! This is INTENDED to go in the trash, so be responsible about it.

First version of just a simple solution to a simple problem.

Problem: Collecting my dog's waste can sometimes be messy, even though I'm using a bag designed for it. If the waste is excessive or particularly runny, it may be very undesirable to tie the bag in the knot, as a good dog owner in a community should.

Need: A way to close or seal the waste bag that doesn't require me to handle it more than is necessary. Must be eco friendly as it will intentionally be put in the garbage. Must also be simple and small, to increase the economical practicality of it.

Solution: A simple clip of PLA, as it is known to be compostable, that I can slide over the neck of the bag instead of tying the bag in a knot.

Have not yet printed (about to), so I'll update after using a few times. First version is just to get it out there and try it, see if I made any big mistakes, or need to improve anything. Second version(s) will be attempts at refining the utility and design. I'll also design a carry utility at that time (think Flexi leash accessories). Third version will be to make it pretty, I'm thinking I'll design the head of the clip to match the shape of the poop emoji. No reason I shouldn't!

Update V2: Printed off five of the V1, super fast printing at .32mm just 5 minutes. Good news is they fit, bad news is JUST barely, so they aren't quite practical. They work though. So I made them a tad bigger in each way (length, width, height, thickness) and especially opened up the mouth to make them easier to use. Forgot to add a little nib on the sides of the head to increase grip. Expected print time did double, so maybe I'll bring the height back down to original in the next version and find another way to reduce material and print time. If they work well enough, then I'm off to the dog park right now and will give a real test.
