3D model description

Cow's Dual Bowden Extruder MK2 (Ramshead)

Couldn't find a dual extruder I liked, so I made my own! This is designed for Prusa i3 clones, especially those who use the Prusa i3 MK2's universal X mount.

Fan nozzles in the images are not the latest versions!
Will upload BOM first chance I get!

Features:

  • Universal 22.5mm Prusa i3 X Mount
  • E3D v6
  • Bowden Extrusion
  • Inductive Probe
  • Independent Z-adjustment
  • Single or dual extrusion
  • Optional PWM Turbine for part cooling
  • Standard E3D fan cooling

Known issues and planned features for MK3:

  • Z-adjustment bends on the base plate. Keep an eye on this while adjusting.
  • Will split the base plate so that each extruder and z-probe can be removed without disassembling the Z adjust.
  • Major adjustments to the Z-adjust accuracy and ease of use coming.
  • Major adjustments of the turbine shroud coming.

Assembly tips:

  • I used two springs from ink pens for the Z-adjust to save money
  • Attach the "Fixture" to the "Base", but do not tighten until the Z distance is adjusted.
  • Adjust primary extruder's Z distance only until the nozzle touches the bed, then use the software Z offset in your firmware to align accurately.
  • Don't trust model measurements for tool offsets! Calibrate manually with test prints. Minor flexing in the fixture adds up.
