4 Dimentional Polypanels
This object has been checked for printability, but did not pass the test and was deemed not printable. This object is still shareable and people with this link will be able to see and download the object, so please make sure you watch out and progress with care!
×This model is not fully functional nor is it realistic, but people in 3d may still be able to play with a 3d slice of one. Though it is very limited and also not in one piece since not all parts of the polypanels can be included in one 3d slice; much like you wouldn't be able to see the whole apple from one thin 2d slice at once. The polypanels are modified so it is in one piece. In a 4D universe, the joints may spin freely, 360-and-some-more degrees, unlike the 270 degrees offered by the 2D version in the 3d universe. in the 4d universe, the 3-dimensional toy would intersect into itself as in 4d, the pieces would not intersect, but go over the other piece as you turn it. But, it would look like its intersecting it. the pieces, also, would still spin freely (360 degrees) even though the connectors have 2 pins instead of 1. Nevertheless, it would still spin freely much like how the 2 solid 3d pieces were able to intersect each other.
some would argue, that this design is very wasteful due to its need for large amount of supported, but the truth is, this object would be printed on a 4d printer, in the 4d universe and on a 3d printed. the piece would be printed from the inside out and with the printed inside the print, and when its done, the print would just be lifted in to the 4th dimension and taken off the printbed. This would mean that this design wastes no more plastic than the origional, 3d polypanel. the pieces had also been altered in the connecting pins so normal 3d people may still be able to connect the pins together. In real life, however, the connector pins would be one hollow sphere, and the other a solid one as people in 4d would be able to connect the solid pin to the hollow pin by pulling it into 4d, move above the sphere, and drop back down into the hollow sphere.
