×Trophy
This trophy was designed 3D printing design awards. It aims to showcase the innovations of 3D printing by having an extremely complex design. It also showcases a 3D printer printing a pair of cogs (to represent 3D printings use in the manufacturing industry as cogs are often associated with industry). It also features a lattice base and microfeatures (having the protolabs logo seen at the top of the trophy as well as numerous small details in the cogs and extruder). It also features microchannels in the cogs.
The cogs, print extruder are to printed with a different material, allowing for contrast to the frame of the trophy.
This print would be extremely difficult for most FDM printers to handle, the extreme overhangs and fine details would be lost in the process of slicing, however SLS printing would allow for the overhangs, micro channels and lattice to be printed, MJF would allow for high resolution for the smaller details !
