3D model description

A clock that shows the day of the week, it features the Geneva Mechanism, for changing the days.

This version features the Internal Geneva Mechanism that allows the timepiece to be placed at the center of the week dial.

update 22/11/2023, revision 2 - changed axles to 2mm round rods. version 1 stls no longer compatible. Use spacer to use old clock movement

Includes detailed build and assembly guide in pdf and video

Parts required:
-- 12888 type clock movement with overall shaft length of 14.8mm with rubber washer, flat washer and nut for mounting. Link to aliexpress

-- 2mm diameter round metal rods (brass or stainless steel). Ends should be free of burrs and chamfered to allow for easy insertion.

-- 3 x 17mm +0.00/-0.20mm (Roller axles)
-- 1 x 15mm +0.00/- 0.20mm (Moon Gear axle)
-- 1 x 50mm (reamer)

Includes Day of Week Dials in several languages

Also includes a Custom Dial generator so you can custom design the dial to your own language or style.

Be sure to keep the unzipped files in the same folder.

To use, open the Custom Dial.scad file using the free software OpenSCAD

Select Menu > Window > Customizer window and change the preset languages or change them as you wish by clicking Parameters triangle to show the parameters. Please note that other paramters are fixed and you can only change week, font name and font size.
Select Menu> Design>Render and Menu> File > Export as STL. You can now print your customized DIAL.

3D printing settings

Can be printed on small print beds. Largest piece is the dial (150mm diameter).

Your printer needs to be well calibrated as some parts snap fit and pins shoufd fit just right.

PLA settings
0.4mm nozzle
0.2mm layers
10% infill

For the dial and the moon gear, set color change on the slicer after 3mm height.
