3D model description

Intended for 3d print.

Finnish knight, late medieval / renaissance era.

This kit contains model parts allowing you to make a knight miniature (5 variants) with a number of signifiers relating it to Finland. See detailed parts list below.
Recommended scale is 40 to 54mm scale. You can print the model at 28mm scale, but some details (particularly face and coat of arms) will suffer.
Printing at sub-28mm scale may result in model parts being too delicate to print properly.
All model parts are prescaled to roughly 54mm scale. Some minor assembly (using glue) is required. See image gallery and detailed list below for further information about model parts.

DETAILED LIST

Kit contains the following model parts:

1 Body holding sword and shield, wearing open helm and bear pelt with the hood up. Armor is late 16th century Greenwich-style armor, with some fanciful touches of Maximillian/gothic style armor (especially the spiked poleyns). Decoration on shield is the coat of arms of Finland since at least 1580.

1 Body holding sword and shield, wearing closed helm and bear pelt with the hood up.

1 Body holding lance and shield, wearing open helm and bear pelt with the hood up.

1 Body holding sword and shield, wearing bear pelt with the hood down. The body is headless, and can be customized with either of the 2 heads included in this kit, or any other head of your choice.

1 Body holding shield but no weapon, wearing open helm and bear pelt with the hood up. This model can be customized with any of the weapons included in this kit, or any other weapon of your choice.

1 Shield. One shield decorated with the coat of arm of Finland. The shield has arm straps. The straps may prevent you from gluing it to a miniature, and should be used primarily in situations when you want the back side of the shield to be visible.

1 Shield. One shield decorated with the coat of arm of Finland. The shield has the arm straps removed, in order to make gluing the shield to the arm of a miniature easier.

2 Heads. 1 bareheaded, 1helmeted (sallet without visor). The face is loosely based on Carl Gustaf Mannerheim.

1 Sampo with milled pile of gold. The cornucopia-like magical artefact Sampo, famous from the Finnish national epic Kalevala. Based on an original design by the world's foremost Kalevala scholar, Don Rosa.

1 Sampo without pile of gold. Same as above, but without gold or platform.

1 Sheathed Sword.

1 Dane Axe.

1 Lance with flag.

1 Lance.

1 Small Round base .

1 Large Round base .

3D printing settings

Intended for print in 28-54mm scale.
Models are all prescaled to approximately 54mm scale.
Relatively high printer settings are recommended (0,08 mm layer height, 20 percent infill).
Printing time depends entirely on hardware, selected size, selected model(s) selected settings et cetera. A rough estimate is 3 hours printing time for a single model (body+head+sampo+base) at default scale.
