3D model description

I have 2 dogs that nudge their food bowls which give me ant problems in the warm months. This is a rotating lid that allows full access of the bowl, but leaving them just enough space to reach their food.

You will need to have knowledge on how to scale this model to fit your bowl.

Parts:
1) Your pet bowl
2) A piece of wood or other material to act as the base of your bowl.
3) a 3/8” carriage bolt that is about 1” taller than your bowl.
4) 3x β…œβ€ wide washers
5) 3 β…œβ€ nuts
6) 1/ β…œβ€ nylon thread locking nut

Assembly:

1) Measure your pet bowl and scale the STL to fit your bowl then print the lid
2) Find the center of your pet bowl and drill a β…œβ€ hole in the center. You may want to use the printed lid’s center hole to assist in finding the center
3) Drill a β…œβ€ hole in the center of your base (Part 2)
4) Insert the β…œ Carriage Bolt through the base and then through the bowl.
5) use 1 wide washer on the bolt and 1 β…œβ€ nut to sandwich the bowl to the wood base. Be aggressive and tighten it so that the carriage bolt sinks into the wood.
6) screw the last two nuts just under the height of the lip and put a wide washer on top of the nut place the lid on the bowl. Reach through the opening of the lid and back the top most nut with washer until it meets the bottom of the lid.
7) Take the lid off and screw the bottom nut to meet the top nut. Counter rotate the nuts on themselves so they lock.
8) put the lid on, the last washer on the bolt and put the nylon thread locking nut on top of that then tighten it down enough so that the lid is tight but does not affect rotation.
