I'll start with a short story about myself.
I grew up in a prosperous family. I have a mom and dad, they raised me, instilled good manners, gave a great education, endowed with a gift that makes me different from many people. All my youth I spent in my mother's library, not studying science (which was enough for me with teachers), but reading about the adventures of famous warriors and wizards, about the monsters and creatures they fought and about the most dangerous creatures that these heroes met. I didn't know which was harder to defeat — a gnoll or a harpy, a Gorgon or a Wyvern, or how many of them were more dangerous. I wondered who else I might meet, and how everyone around me didn't go crazy because they didn't know anything about these creatures. They are so dangerous and so interesting!

There are a lot of people in our world and not everyone is fit for feats, and I'm one of them. But I will tell you this, it is not for nothing that everything in this world happens exactly as it happens.
It can't be a coincidence that my mother is a sorceress who had a huge number of books about heroes fighting terrible monsters.
It is no accident that my father is the best Tanner in the country.
These talents that my parents gave me, in the future I will be very useful... But I will not get ahead of myself, my dear reader.

It's time to talk about my dream.
When the books on monsters were finished, I began to seek knowledge from traders, from travelers passing through our city, to gather rumors. I drank in every letter that was said to me, even by any drunkard who had heard of anything... I was restless at home, I wanted to see those of whom I had read, and those of whom I had only heard.
And suddenly again " accident." I met a man who told me about things I couldn't believe. The man's name was Ferdinand Hardegen, he was a dream-chasing Explorer like me. I couldn't leave home to go on an expedition with him and started helping him, deciphering the writing, getting information, helping what I could. In response to my letters from him came parcels, in which were narratives about creatures, and then and monsters, real, Ah, not the that would recognized real, rather their parts of, but I again'm getting ahead. Another package came, it was his diary and a real toad! Can you imagine?! This package was the last from him, there was no news, I was tormented, what happened, where he disappeared, how I will see the monsters, what should I do next.

It has been a long time since a letter was brought to me one day from one Alfred. It was said that Ferdinand is gone. I was also asked to join his search. Without a moment's thought, I Packed up, said good-bye to my parents, and went to the rendezvous from which the search for this remarkable man was to begin.
