It can be used for the display of the Acer Iconia Tab A700.
Screw it on the backside of the tablet some millimeters above the lower edge of the tablet so that it can stand without a stand.

It is a great thing: you can use such a board to reuse your display from an old tablet or Notbook as an external monitor.

You can buy an LCD controller board cheaply (30 €) from ebay. Just enter "lcd controller board" and the model number of your display (e.g. "B101UAN02.1" you need to disassemble your tablet or notebook to see it directly on the back of the display). Find a supplier (usually in China) send him your model number through ebay. He will configure the board so that it fits to your display.
Usually you will need a 12V DC power adapter.
If you got different boards, you can easily customize the box and the screws usind OpenSCAD.

BOM

• For mounting the 3 PCBs (main PCB with the power, hdmi, vga and audio connectors / the inverter PCB and the buttons PCB) you can use screws that actually are used to mount a computer motherboard (diameter: 3.3mm, length: about 5mm). 8 screws are needed. It must not be metrical screws.

• Another 4 screws with a diameter of 2.5mm and a length of about 10mm are used to screw the box.

• 2 to 4 bolts and nuts to mount the box at the backside of the tablet. The holes for that are not in the design, so drill them as needed.

• Of course:

  • the LCD controller board
  • the display and
  • a 12 V DC power supply.

Dieses Board kann verwendet werden, um den Bildschirm des Acer Iconia A700 anzusteuern.

Es ist eine großartige Sache: Mit Hilfe dieser Platine kann man einen Bildschirm eines alten Laptops oder Tablets als externen Bildschirm wiederverwenden.

Die hier downloadbare Box kann auf die Rückseite des Tables geschraubt werden, so dass das Tablet von selbst steht.

Um das richtige LCD-Controller-Board zu finden, kann man bei ebay "LCD Controller board" und die Modellnummer des Bildschirms eingeben, z.B. "B101UAN02.1". Man muss das Notebook oder Tablet auseinanderbauen, um die Modellnummer auf der Rückseite des Bildschirms selbst lesen zu können. Bei ebay findet man einen (meist chinesischen) Anbieter, dem man die Modellnummer seines Bildschirms per ebay-Nachricht schreibt. Das Board wird vom Anbieter für den jeweiligen Bildschirm konfiguriert.
Wenn Sie andere Platinen haben, können Sie die Box mit Hilfe von OpenSCAD leicht anpassen.

Teileliste

• Um die 3 Platinen (Hauptplatine mit Strom-, HDMI-, VGA- und Audio-Anschlüssen, die Inverterplatine und die Knöpfeplatine) zu befestigen: 8 Schrauben (nicht metrische 3,3mm Durchmesser, ca. 5mm Länge). Es können Schrauben verwendet werden, die eigentlicht verwendet werden, um Computer-Motherboards zu befestigen.
• 4 Holzschrauben, um die Box zu zuschrauben: 2,5mm Durchmesser, ca. 10mm Länge)
• 2 bis 4 metrische Schrauben, um die Box an der Rückseite des Tablets zu befestigen. Die Löcher dafür sind im Design nicht enthalten - also einfach passende Löcher bohren.
• und natürlich:
  • den Bildschirm
  • die Controllerboards und
  • ein 12V Gleichstrom Netzteil.
