3D model description

Print in place heart shaped box with pivot lid. This is a variation of my Star Box with Pivot Lid. I was thinking of other shapes and thought that a heart would be nice... lots of people like hearts. And there's a nice flat edge that would be good for the pivot mechanism.

Please note that the inside wall of the box has a gradient so that the box can be printed without supports. I had to sacrifice some of the inner volume.

Great for little things that need to be tucked away.

The heart on it's side is about 105mm x 95mm and the box is 45mm high including the lid.

3D printing settings

Print this with box on it's side with the pivot at the bottom. The STL file should be oriented correctly.

This should be an easy print. I printed with a raft but without supports at a layer height of 0.3mm, 3 outer shells and 10% fill. But I kept the speed down a little at 60mm/s because I didn't want the pivot joint to fuse together.

Print with a raft if you don't want to worry about elephant feet fusing the lid and box together.
