Important: All files updated as of 12/12/2022.

What's New:

  • All separate files (Rim and tire) now have tested supports for printing in 1/64 scale.

  • All rims have bigger, more correct lug nuts.

  • Tires no longer solid, having a little hollowness in the inside.

  • Inner side of the rim is a bit longer now to keep the tire from touching the fender or chassis.

This set of 1/64 wheels is based on the Argentine answer to the requierements for a lightweight alloy rim like the ones made by American Racing or Halibrand in the US.

"Ruedas Argentinas" was the brand that made them, and by late 1960's almost all Argentinian Top Teams used these rims, in series like Turismo de Carretera (TC), Sport Prototipo or MAF-1 (Mecánica Argentina F-1 or "Mecánica Nacional"). The Famous "IKA Torinos" that ran at the "Marathon de la Route" of 1969 at the Nurburgring wore a set of "Ruedas Argentinas".

Being Magnesium-made, the rims were very light but a bit prone to break in hits. Nevertheless, they are an icon of the '60s Argentine Motor Racing.

This set has two different Wheels: Front (Real life 15x10 rims) and Rear (Real life 15x14 rims). Depending on the car you want to make, you could print 4 front wheels for some street cars (Like the Nurburgring Torino) or use the wider, bigger wheels for the rear axle for a more sporty look.

Overall Width: 5,9mm (Wheel alone 4,9mm)

REAR:

Ø Wheels: 11,85mm

Overall Width: 6,7mm

Also, there are two print options: Separate rim and tire or single piece wheels.

  • Both have holes suited to 0,81mm axles (Mainline Hot Wheels axle).

3D printing settings

IMPORTANT: 3D PRINT PARAMETERS

Tested in SLA Print.At least 0,03mm layers (or less) are recommended.

Black resin will make the job easier, having therefore to paint only the rims.

Sanding the tires while turning the wheels will give a smooth and realistic finish.
