3D model description

I designed this simple case to house a generic 7" HDMI Touchscreen (some links below) that I'm using for Klipperscreen. It attaches to any horizontal aluminium profile (or two appropriately spaced vertical profiles) with a couple of M4 screws & T-Nuts. It can be printed without support. I opted for 3 walls, 4 top/bottom layers and 15% infill. I printed it face down on a glass bed for a nice smooth finish.

In case you are wondering, The two teardrop cut-outs on each side are just to save filament and shaped so as not to require supports.

When mounting, you want at least one of the two sides to be resting against something solid (like a vertical extrusion as shown in my photo) otherwise it may be a bit "bouncy" when you touch the screen.

The screen screws into the case using the four M3 screws provided, cutting their own thread into the plastic. The holes may need a bit of cleaning/tweaking. Also. once the screen is in, it was really fiddly for me to tighten the two screws to mount it to the 3D printer. In hindsight, it would have been better to design it so that the screen slots into a recess at the top of the case and then just uses the bottom two screws to hold it in place. if I'd have done it like that then the case could be mounted to the printer before slotting the display into the case and securing it with the easily accessible bottom two screws. I may redesign it at some point. I have included the Fusion 360 and STEP file if you want to do it yourself.
