3D model description

Continuing with the transforming Autopod series, we now get to equip the Autobots with a clean energy generation wind turbine!

Much like earlier Autopods, this comes first in its compact and familiar form of a rugged pod. When an suitable deployment zone has been established, this can transform, with the front, back and side panels rotating and flipping out, to turn into this control base.

The fan which is stored inside can then be taken out to have its blades opened up and installed upon the raised platform so it can start to harness the power of the wind!

Underneath the raised platform is where the energy banks are located, and with a number of 5mm ports in there. These ports can be used for holding accessories, blast effects or be connected using rubber tubing as shown above.

With the side panel flipped out, there are tabs to allow for either TR or WFC connector pieces ( available in the various sets here - https://funbiestudios.com/model-catalog#cyberbase-tracks ) to be attached so the entire Autopod can be further linked up with other CyberBase Tracks pieces or other bots with compatible linkages

Fits a smaller size bot in alt mode nicely!

As one may have guessed, this was the alternate green power source which is more amenable for the Autobots, as compared to the Decepticons' massively damaging Drilling Station!

=== ASSEMBLY ===

The attached diagram show how the various parts of this build, go together.

  • All the swivel hinges will need to be pinned using some 3mm acrylic or other rod.
  • The hinge pin for the Keyboard uses a 5mm rod.
  • As an alternative, 3d printable versions of the pegs have also been provided.
  • The turbine fan blade come flat initially for easy and fast 3d printing, and they can be left as they are, or slightly heated with a lighter/torch and given a slight curve as seen in the photos above.

Hope everyone's enjoying this continued dive into these base-enhancing Autopods, and as always - happy 3d printing! =)
