3D model description

Ugolin della Gherardesca or Hugolin della Gherardesca (Italian: Ugolino della Gherardesca) (born c. 1220 in Pisa - died 1289 in the same city), Count of Donoratico, was a medieval Italian military and political figure who served as tyrant of Pisa in the 13th century. He was descended from a noble family of Lombard origin: the Della Gherardesca.

He is known and passed to posterity for having served as the model for the damned hero of Dante's Divine Comedy, condemned to die of hunger after eating his own children.
