STAR WARS R2D2 detailed printable 360 deg rotating openable head 3D print model

Description

1/5 scale model. On the pictures, it is printed at 100% of its size (PLA 0.1mm layers), used colors : white, silver, blue, black, red and cyan. For the feet cables, I used brown electric wire (1.5mm²). Few cleaning, no paintjob, the result is rough printed. The model is provided with instructions to make it easy to construct. At this size, it can be used as a pencil box, but it is possible to upscale it to make a cookie jar or a candy box. Be careful, if you want direct contact with food, you have to use FDA aproved filament. Do not hesitate to share pictures of your makes and send me your feedback.

Hello, I wouldn't recommend it because when your printer's head will reach the top of the inside cylinder, you'll have to print an almost horizontal surface, and with no support underneath, the plastic will probably fall down and ruin the quality of your printing. That would be a shame because these two parts are the biggest of the model, and will take time to be printed. Why do you want to print these parts without support? Best regards.

Hello, if you print my model with 100% size ratio, it will be 208 mm tall. The real R2D is 1.09 meter tall, so the exact scale is 1090/ 208 = 5.24 If you want it at a 1/6th scale (1090 / 6 =181), you will have to apply a 0.87 size ratio factor to each part before printing. Best regards

sorry to bug you again..you said this is 1/5th scale? how tall is that? i want to do it in 1/6th scale..just trying to decide on what one to get at this point..i want one that is easy to print and put together and paint...im on a droid kick right now..lol..

Hello, Yes of course, the complete one part model is available with all the package, but, if you print it that way, you'll have a lot of cleaning to do after printing, and only one color. Best regards.
