US TBF Avenger Torpedo Bomber Free 3D print model

1/900th scale TBF Avenger Torpedo Bomber model. Certain elements not to scale.

The TBF Avenger saw its combat debut during the Battle of Midway. It replaced the TBD Devastator, which was obsolete by the onset of the war. It was the heaviest single engine aircraft of the war. It was modernized after the war and continued service through the '60's.

This model is designed and tested at 1/900th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/900th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. The model has been enlarged along the z axis to allow for better printing and accentuation of detail. The model has also been given thicker elements for strength. The wingspan and overall length are to scale.

Update 11 Sep 19: Added an option with propellors. Rearranged squadron. Adjustments for better printability.

Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
