Frankenstein Junior

Frankenstein Junior 3D print model

Description

Frank Jr. is based on an old H-B character of the same name, featured in an animated series in 1966 and 67. Frank was the muscle in a superhero team. Frank's partner was a boy scientist who helped bring Frank Jr. to life, with his fathers assistance. Frank Jr. was supposed to be a robot, so it is odd that his design included stitches instead of more bolts and welds. The model has been designed as a freestanding model. While a detailed recreation, the design varies, giving Frank Jr. a more barrel chested proportion, as opposed to a barrel bodied shape. Most of his body is thick and positioned to make things easy to support or to support them selves. The antenna has been made thicker and angled to make it easier to print, but it is still the most difficult part to print on an FDM print. A resin printer handles it fine, but just be careful while removing supports, if added. The defail scale is just over 125 mm.

Updated:

While the whole model prints fine with a few supports for the fingers, someone requested a cut version. Given that the original was designed for animation and then converted, I don't like to do hacky cuts, but I've chopped him at the waist and added a peg to snap top and bottom together. I've test printed the whole, but not the cut parts. So, as I always say, find the best orientation and support placement that works for you and your printer.
