3D model description

This is another entry to my 1000mm balsa conversion warbird series. The British Spitfire is well known plane to any WW2 enthusiast and I've tried my best to do it justice here. Built in a similar strategy as my previous conversions, using all 4mm thick spars and formers to keep it scale down ready to 60%. At full size this model is right around 500 grams, using 1 wall, 2 bottom and 2 top layers on all frame pieces at .2mm layer height with 10% gyroid infill.

2/13/2022: I've added Servo mounts in the wings and rear fuselage along with an electronics platform and a new set of bottom control horn ailerons. These are technically the v2 parts but will be included in the V1 download. I'm currently building a fullscale carbon fiber pla Spitfire now, added a couple pictures above.

3/23/2022 Ive added a framed canopy and a battery cover hatch. in order to use this hatch you have to snip out the stringers between the 2 bulkheads just in front of the canopy. This is an optional piece but is extremely helpful in the installation and removal of a battery if you intend to make this model R/C. I left enough room below the hatch to attach it with velcro strips without sticking up above the surface. I am also currently working on a set of landing gear for this one too. They should be available shortly and will require no modifications to the existing design beyond a couple slits in the covering and some glue.They will require a small extension spring.

4/26/2022: Added a new compiled zip that contains the full v2 frame for electronics cutouts, to insure there is no confusion between the 2 slightly different model's parts.
