3D model description

This is a simple macro tube adaptor for a 50mm f/1.7 CHINON manual lens.

As I do not like using plastic parts close to the APS-C sensor, I use a cheap 49mm Macro Reverse Adapter Ring for Sony NEX E-Mount which fits inside the A6000. This piece is screwed inside a 3D printed interface into which is inserted a piece of 45mm pvc tubing.

At the other extremity, there is another 3D printed part fitting the pentax K_mount I get in my CHINON lens

This technique can easily be used to adapt any lens even for a non macro tube. It is easy to accurately calibrate the length in order to get a proper infinity focusing. Once calibrated, just glue the pvc in place !

3D printing settings

printed in PLA.

PVC ext diameter is 45 mm. Cut a lenght of around 45 mm to get the magnification shown in the video.

just play with the .scad file to adapt dimensions to your PVC tubing.

It is important to get a tight fit between PVC tubing and the 3D printed parts.

Don't forget to paint in black the inner part of the PVC tubing to avoid reflections and straylight.
