3D model description

Mar 6th 2022 UPDATE: I tried removing a lil bit off the back of the door to help it rest against the body a bit better. I also made a variation with two pegholes inside, so you have more storage possibilities with this part. In particular, you can store weapons there while Airwave is in robot mode.

A set of parts to improve your Airwave experience, mostly based on the G1 playset.

The first thing of note is the orange door that is unusually absent. Conveniently, there are hinges there for Earthrise's connecting roads gimmick, so it fits in there. I made a cutoff point for the hinge so that you can easily paint it blue to help it blend in better. There may be issues with getting it to close down perfectly, but it should still look fine.

Next are missiles that are technically included via Airwave's black weapon parts, but they don't really resemble missiles at all. I had trouble deciding whether there would be a peg or a hole at either the back of the missile or the bottom, so my solution was to add holes in both spots and include a 5mm peg for you to glue into whichever you prefer. I personally put one peg in the back of one missile and on the bottom of the other missile, so they both serve different purposes and can be combined.

Finally, and superfluously, a waist extension for the robot mode to provide more standard proportions, for those wanting Airwave to be less leggy. This is based on the design of the G1 Micromaster Airwave that came with the playset. It looks vague enough it shouldn't stand out on the playset. The versions called "NoPeg" and "Peg" are ones where the 5mm peg is a separate piece that you glue on, for the sake of easier printing. I positioned the NoPeg version in its best position, but I left the pegged version alone - you can figure out what to do to print that one. Pegs don't do well when printed vertically.

Parts have been pre-positioned and require support. Some pegs might be tight so take care to adjust those as you see fit. The missile is specifically designed so it shouldn't need support.
