3D model description

I added a cover for the back to ease strain on the sesnor cable connector. I made mine out of TPU95A. It would work well with the same or softer flexible material. The strain relief part (the tube) has a 5mm diameter hole at the end but can be cut back one section to open it up to 7.2mm there is a slot along the side and it simply slips over the back end of the sensor. I will upload a pic once I am done doing some testing and video of the completed setup. I also refined the remote sensor box model a bit to round out the corners and reduce the chance that overextrusion will cause it to bind up with the mounting base. Just minor tweaks. I will do the same to other files as I go. Most stuff you wouldn't notice and will simply help it print a bit easier by reducing sharp edges and rounding off inside and outside vertical edges for the same reason.

The remote sensor upgrade may require the knowledge of soldering or finding an extension cable for the sensor. The other sensor is a direct replacement for the current sensor and fits into the housing of the stock system. I have decreased the amount of guiding contact to around 3mm, tapered the inside so that you can use a teflon tube insert or not. It was designed so you could insert the tube from the filament dry box into the sensor box but some may want to use the teflon tube to more accurately push the filament through the sensor ( the hole size for the feed path I used was 2mm to make sure the print worked out for those who tend to overextrude a bit.) The hole for the teflon tube is more tightly constrained so it will hold the tube well.

Even if you intend to keep the filament feeding where it is you may benefit from using the remote sensor setup as it reduces drag due to is increased angle and ability to articulate.
