3D model description

The Arcadia VF-1J with Super Parts comes with extra hands, chest fillers, external chair, over a dozen missiles, and of course the Super Parts (FAST Pack armor). Instead of keeping them in the rather bulky box nearby, I designed a more compact box that doubles as a display stand, emulating part of the deck of the Prometheus.

The box is also designed to be compatible with the missile carriers I designed to go along with the Arcadia 1/60 VF-1J.

I'm including a few variations of the front panel with different plane numbers - 202 for Max, 303 Miriya/Milia, 101 for Rick/Hikaru and a no number version.

I printed it with a Prusa i3 MK3S with Multi-Material upgrade to get all the colors in. It needs to be printed in 2 halves to fit my printer, which are connected using 6mm M3 screws and hexagonal nuts. The front panels need to be glued onto the front of the box.

3D printing settings

As it's a multi-material print, so you need to load up multiple files into PrusaSlicer or whatever slicer you use to make sure they line up properly. If you're printing in a single color, you'll still have to do so, so you don't have gaps in the print.

There are 6 parts that need to be printed: 1) Box Left, 2) Box Right, 3) Box Front Left, 4) Box Front Right, 5) Box Lid Left, and 6) Box Lid Right.

The Box Front Right needs to include the files for Red, White, Black and your choice of Dark Grey and Silver (101, 202, 303 or no number). I printed the boxes at 5% infill, the lids and front at 10% infill, with ironing on for the front panels. If you have the powder coated print plate, I recommend that for the lid, as it gives a nice texture for the "tarmac" (lids are printed upside-down)

The lids were printed with one of the parts called "infill" with no top perimeter using honey comb grid pattern - this reduced warping with the corners curling and looked neat.

I recommend both the lids and the boxes be printed with "mouse ears" to reduce corner lift. In order to fit the lids and boxes with a wipe tower, you need to reduce the width of the wipe tower to between 8 and 11mm.

I'm including PrusaSlicer files for all the prints if you have a Prusa with MM, so you can just load and print.
