3D model description

I was going through old photos with my sister and came across my mother's favorite car - a 1966 fire engine red Ford® Custom 500. I knew I had to add one of these cars to my slot car collection. I couldn't find one - so I designed one.

This version fits the new AFX® Mega G+ (TM) Long Rolling Chassis (PN: 21023). Which means it's been stretched here and there in order to make it fit. I made the choice to run the lights from a battery versus track power. This way it could be illuminated while sitting on a false chassis.

The model is printed in separate pieces for the body (a version with the body clip molded in and version without the body clip), the windows (which includes areas for a battery and switch), head and tail lights designed to accept PICO sized LEDs for lighting.

The battery and switch combination along with the LEDs can purchased from Evan Designs.

Pico LEDs (https://evandesigns.com/products/chip-nano-pico-leds?variant=32155327889456)

I recommend shortening the wires in order to avoid having long wires to hide in the body.

Print all the pieces and assemble in the following order: LEDs into head and tail lights, head and tail lights into body, and the window into the body.

ALTERNATELY - you can purchase this model already 3D printed and ready for paint and assembly here: https://catzpawstore.myshopify.com/products/1966-ford®-inspired-custom-500-ho-slot-car-body-kit
