3D model description

A bolt is a small door lock without key. Use for example for toilets, or for a wicket door, etc.

The main body measures 6 x 6 cm and the secondary piece 1.8 x 6 cm. The latch is 9 cm long. The length of the bolt allows for variable spacing between the 2 pieces (1mm to 1cm).

Fixing with 6 countersunk screws diameter 3 or 4 mm.

The idea for this creation came to me because the key to the toilet was misplaced for a while. I figured my guests would appreciate being able to lock the bathroom door for privacy. And so here is the realization! (In the meantime I found the key ;-)

3D printing settings

Print the 2 fixed pieces upright so that the ridges are in the direction that provides the best strength (see screen shot). Layer height of 0.3mm will suffice, fill 30%, supports yes, small border of 2mm.

Print the latch lying, so the pin will be solid. Layer height 0.2mm (to have a better taper on the lug), supports yes, small 2mm border.
