3D model description

The latest iteration of IDW's Beast Wars sure took on a very different graphic look on things, which also extended to the iconic Maximal exploration vessal and subsequent HQ, the Axalon.

So here's bringing this new look to the Iconic Ships Series!

Keeping true to the simple angular geometry of the Axalon, it features a pair of twin engines on the sides to power the vessel.

A pair of antennae sprout out of the top, likely useful in transmitting any new discoveries in space back to home base.

And a fun feature added to this ship is a teeny tiny hatch door at the back, which can be flipped open because that's obviously how you will need to load or jettison little stasis pods!

=== ASSEMBLY ===

The attached image shows all the parts of this kit.

Some things to note:

  • The body is comprised of a front and back part, which should be printed pointing upwards on the printbed for best details. These can be connected with the Body_Peg piece and secured with some superglue.
  • The two Engine portions on the side can be connected to the body itself using the provided 5mm pegs or using 5mm rods cut to length.
  • The rear door it to be attached and hinged onto the Body_Back using a small length of 1.75mm filament.
  • The whole assembled ship can be displayed upon the standard Iconic Ships stand and base.

And of course, do print a whole bunch of the little stasis pods to store in the empty cavity of the Body, ready to be jettisoned!

===

Have fun adding this new Axalon to your Iconic Ships collections - happy 3d printing as always! =)
