3D model description

This is a press-fit case in the shape of a Gem/Crystal. It was made with the white Auracite from FFXIV in mind but could be used as well in any other Larp/Cosplay.

Print it in any size you want, but I only tested it in the size it has already, if you get to smal lthe walls may fail/be to thin. Just be sure both parts have the same scaling, as the light up effect will get messed up if one part is longer than the other because the walls are built in a way that enables it to be very consistent in thickness and thus in brightness. after printing just put in a fairy light or a small USB powerbank with an RGB lightstrip and boom you're done.

With Fairylights (those from AMazon with the two babycells for batteries) I noticed they start to fade around 3-4 hrs and get veeeeery dim over time. Could be a spell that is fading I guess? I 'm not the police do with it what ou please but stay safe haha.

Important: As this is a press-fit thing it can be hard to seperate the two halves after pressing them together, so I suggest you either don't press to hard or have a knife/flat screwdriver at hand to gently push around the edge until you get it of, please be careful not to hurt yourself. But I guess for Cosplay/Larp it would be cool to put the light in and leave it there and the lower the brightness gets the weaker the spell is and after that it's just depleted?

3D printing settings

Printed in white transparent PLA for maximum effect with Fairylights, but because the walls are so thin you can probably use solid colored LEDs if they are bright enough.

Print standing up, with the edges facing the Buildplate and the Tip towards the skyyy.

I printed it with a 0.6 nozzle with 0.3 layer heigth but can probably print on any setting.

I decided on having at least 60% infill if not 100 to have a nice diffusing effect for the lights but works with lower I guess.

Supports is a Yes but tweak the support angle to something around 60ยฐ so it just supports the walls and not the inner parts, tip doesn't need no support.
