3D model description

A small rolling sphere container fastened by magnets.

I was playing around with print in place designs and different ways to fasten and lock them. Plus I had a lot of these little magnets.

Note: the outer box has openings on two opposite sides so opening and closing the containers without the contents falling out may take a little practice. For something easier to handle, you can have a look at my other pill box designs, "Rotating Pill Boxes with Magnets" (free) and "Print in Place Pill Box with 2 Compartments" (free).

They also make pretty good fidget toys.... ;-D

The inner spheres on the different boxes have diameters of 3cm (big), 2.5cm (medium) and 2cm (small).

3D printing settings

You need two small magnets for each box (6mm (diameter) x 3mm (tall)).

Everything prints without supports but you may want to use a raft in case of elephant feet issues that would bind the inner and outer pieces together.

The rim on the separate magnet loop is only 1mm tall. So the the magnet will stick out a bit. I used super glue to stick the magnets on.
