3D model description

Custom shell for UDL XM1014 foam dart blaster.

There print options:

  1. One-piece: print the whole shell in one piece
  2. Two-piece: print shell case and the head separately
  3. Three-piece: Shell case, shell head and the seal insert

Print guide:

For 1-pc version, just print in any layer height. Increase infill percentage at the bottom part for better rim strength.

For 2-pc and 3-pc versions, 'Use Adaptive Layers' (Cura) is recommended for better resolution on screw thread. Normally 0.2 layer height is just fine.

PLA is fine for normal parts, PETG, ABS or other filament with higher strength are better. The ejecting rim on the shell head is the weakest link of the whole print. My solution is to print with only 1 (2 at the most) wall line for the rim(modified setting), and other layers above with 3-4 wall lines.

I recommend to print 2-pc or 3-pc version only: if the shell head is broken (the rim is destroyer), just reprint the shell head for the replacement, save much print time and filament.

The seal insert in the 3-pc version is to print with TPU or other flexible filament, if the material is not flexible enough to create better seal, it's meaningless. TBH, I personally see no performance difference between 3 versions in the stock blaster setup, please test and feedback otherwise.
