3D model description

Please Note: All downloads, 3D printing, and use are at your own risk.

I have designed a Receiver or Gyro Shelf that screws into the battery compartment of the Freewing Avanti S 80mm EDF Jet.

The pictures shown are of the "Short" Shelf version.

There are two versions of the Shelf:

  1. "RX_Gyro_Shelf_Short" is 8mm shorter than the "Tall" version and provides more clearance if needed for taller receivers or gyro units.
  2. "RX_Gyro_Shelf_Tall" is 8mm taller than the "Short" version.

The shelf allows for the RX/Gyro to be positioned above and out of the way of the control board. This also provides a less cluttered look to the compartment. Be sure to properly secure any electronics to the shelf and test thoroughly before use.

The shelf secures to the wood of the battery compartment below it using four of the same size screws that are found to secure the wooden battery tray, so I used some spare screws of that size I had at the time to secure it. The four holes on top of the shelf is for screwdriver access to allow a person to easily access and position the screws to secure the shelf to the aircraft via the shelf base screw holes. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws and accidentally break/crack the shelf on or near the screw hole areas.

As always, any time modification is made to an aircraft like weight being added, removed, or redistributed please check that your aircraft CG is within the proper recommended range before flying.
