3D model description

I designed these 5-1/4" drive bays for my old 486 so that I can add a Gotek floppy emulator and have easy access to the compact flash card I want to use as a hard drive as well.

Mounting dimensions and front plate are the same as a typical CD-ROM drive.

Use 2mm screws to mount the adapters to the frame.

The Gotek LCD will be a tight fit because it's only held in by the friction so may require some filing around the edges if it's too tight because of printing variations.

There are four files.
GotekCF01 has space for one CF slot
GotekCF02 has space for two CF slots
GotekCF01-BC has B: and C: written on the front next to the respective drives
GotekCF02-BCD has B, C: and D: written on the front next to the respective drives
GotekCF-IBMcase02 is designed with a flap that covers the front and makes it look like the original bay cover of an old IBM Valuepoint case.
GotekCF-IBMcase02-hatch is the hatch for the above part

The IBM hatch is installed with two M2x12 screws as hinges. Use four 5x5x1 magnets in the square indentations to help hold the door closed. Two M3x25 mm screws can be installed in the holes near the hinges to act as internal stops that also help hold the door open when they touch the magnets on the inside.

If the drive letter doesn't suit you then use the ones without any letter.

Bigger adapters with standing full size 40 pin IDE connectors won't fit, off course.
