3D model description

The Digicom MDT-870 computer from inside Murphys police car in the Rcop 1 movie, designed to print easily on any FDM printer.
It comes in 2 main parts, the monitor and the keyboard base.

It also has 2 inner trims which are optional these are extra screen supports and meant to be glued in place.
Also 1 outer bezel to keep any screen you use in place and hide any cutting marks (blue tack is great for holding this in place if you want to change screens later).

You also get the SVG file of the key and screen decals.

The back lit screen part with the lettering on in the photos was made using a laminated sheet and 3 layers of frosted vinyl, it needs much more to diffuse the lights as you can see in the image, or use a pre diffused light source.

We used LED light strips for this build and drilled a hole in the keyboard base to fit the wires through, once you are satisfied glue or attach the monitor top part to the base.

This was designed and built for a Robo Police car hire company

3D printing settings

It's a long build so it all depends what you want speed wise, we kept it 60mms speed, 30% infill, 3 walls (needed to be robust) and printed at the size in the files took about 2 days altogether.
