3D model description

KYLIX | ANCIENT GREEK POTTERY FORM

"Kylix, also spelled cylix, in ancient Greek pottery, wide-bowled drinking cup with horizontal handles, one of the most popular pottery forms from Mycenaean times through the classical Athenian period.

Kylikes were often produced in sets to accompany a wine serving vessel, or krater. " -Britannica, 07/06/20

The Drooup-type kylix was named after the researcher who first studied them "John Percival Droop", a British classical archaeologist who served as the professor of classical archaeology at the University of Liverpool from 1921 to 1948. He later moved on examining and analysing an Ancient Greek bowl form, dating from the 5th century BC, which later became known as Droop cups. Moreover Droop conducted research at the temple of Artemis Orthia at Sparta.
