Description
In ancient times, the world was molten stone. Malgatorrik was the most supreme of all, freely taking shape in the fire and liquid rock as they pleased. Malgatorrik, the greatest of elemental spirits, had no designs for conquering because the world was her domain already. Yet that domain shrunk. Water made rock solid. Earth-covered molten streams. And Malgatorrik weakened. With much less a realm under her command, Malgatorrik decided to create a body before not even enough remained for this act. And so Malgatorrik, the Magmadrake was born. She was still able to manifest in all the molten rock the earth could provide, but her reign was decidedly over. She created eggs so that if her spirit would pass, her kind could still populate the world anew. And then, she went to sleep under her last bastion at the center of the world.
Until Ragnoth’s anger woke her. With blinding speed, Malgatorrik tunneled towards Western Hammerhold. The streams of magma she traveled along heralded her arrival, great signal fires of a coming dread. Her every presence singed her surroundings, and all she touched melted away. All but the Garork that had called her and the ones standing near him. Malgatorrik was interested. She was reminded of that ancient feeling, of wanting to preserve. To protect? In her curiosity, she grabbed a hold of Ragnoth and the surviving Garorks and took them with her, through blistering rock and molten ground, to her ancient fortress at the center of the world. Here, at the foot of Malgatar, she spoke with Ragnoth. And a pact was made.
Ragnoth was not satisfied with just having survived the ordeal, however, and began retelling his fury to Malgatorrik day by day. And slowly, but surely, she would listen, understand, and grow enraged herself. It was no justice that her domain had been so reduced. It was not fair that the earth she had once so freely traversed rebelled against her coming. It was a better idea to take it all back. And so, the great volcano Malgatar began its renewed spewing of rock and fire to cloud the skies, and Malgatorrik began actively stoking the great underground streams of Magma. Soon, their vengeance would come. Not yet. But soon. May fire claim the earth.
