3D model description

Mario Kart is a very competitive sport in my family, and it's time we had something serious to play for! Enter the Mario Kart Trophy. Now the winners can bask in glory... until the next marathon session.

Choose how you want to use the trophy - print all parts (as listed in instructions) and combine with some toys of your favourite characters to rank the positions of friends and family, or leave off the ranked placings around the perimeter and use it as a clean and simple trophy (also less printing required). Either way, take your karting to the next level!

You can read about my process designing and creating this design on my blog https://edditiveblog.wordpress.com/category/mario-kart-trophy/

Also note that the base part uploaded here only says 'Mario Kart Championship' so you aren't stuck with my last name!

Instructions:

You will need to print 1 of each part file, except for the following:

'Vine Top Left' x 2
'Vine Top Right' x 2
'Vines Left' x 6
'Vines Right' x 6
You will also need to cut a base and ring from 24mm thick timber - I used some 12mm Particle Board and glued 2 sheets together. You might also like to try different materials like acrylic or even 3D print your own design.

The base should be 119mm diameter.
The ring should have an inside diameter of 170mm, and an outside diameter of 250mm.
The placings that go around the outside, as well as the central leaf, require you to drill holes in the ring. Match the drill bits to the pieces once they are printed out. This allows you to glue them in place securely. I used Araldite to glue all the pieces together. The 'Base Plastic Simple Logo' has a screw hole to securely fix to the base piece of timber.

You can also find the Mario Kart character toys on Ebay or in some toy stores.
