3D model description

Lots of people have made really cool desktop paint storage systems. Sprawling designs of mechanical genius. Unfortunately, these designs often forget about the the little guy. The hobbyist that lives in a tiny apartment, or the hobbyist with a partner whose OCD is triggered by your hobby space.

For the rest of us, I present to you the JTS Paint Storage System for Really Useful Boxes (specifically the 4/9L US boxes). The system is comprised of two styles of trays. The standard tray will hold 11 pots of paint, and four of these trays will fit in the 4L box. The 9L box will hold eight trays, and the second style of tray has additional posts built in to support the upper layer. For the people doing the math, that is 44 pots of paint in the 4L, and 88 pots of paint in the 9L. Oh, and both types of boxes stack, which is perfect for hiding your paint in the back of your closet, or wherever else you can find the space to store it.

So what paints can you stuff in here? Well, each tray type comes in four styles. First up are the 36mm holes for AMMO by MIG paint pots. The other three styles cover the Citadel 12/18/24mm pots. Each style of tray raises the paint pots high enough so you can see the color, while keeping the pots secure in their slots. With the lid on your box, you can jiggle the box like crazy, and your pots will stay in their slots.

Sadly, most dropper bottles are too tall to fit into the 4L box and leave wasted space in the 9L box, so those are out for now. I will probably design something for dropper bottles in the future though, so check back!

You want more value? Okay, well, each tray can be lifted out of the box and taken to your hobby area allowing you to only take what you need for your current project and keep things tidy. The trays also have OpenLock slots so that you can connect them together if you so choose. Lastly, I have included a set of conversion sheathes for the 36mm hole trays so you can mix all four supported paint types in one tray. Everything prints support free on FDM, and any future updates/upgrades will be included for free.

Once I make a video for this product, I will link it here.

Important Notes
- 1. These will only fit properly in the 4L/9L US Really Useful Boxes. There are non-US versions of these boxes, so make sure you have the correct version.
- 2. The OpenLock slots have tiny supports built in that will need to be removed if you want to use clips to connect the trays. The trays will sit and stack properly without the clips, so using them is completely up to you.
