Enjoying Beverages in VR Space

Overview

This is a drink holder designed for Quest 2 controllers, which can be created using a 3D printer. It enhances immersion when used together with a 3D model of a plastic bottle. Perfect for social gatherings and events. The downloadable files include the 3D printer data and 3D model data.

Instructions

  1. Things you will need:

    • 3D printer
    • Quest 2 controller (can be either left or right)
    • plastic bottle

  2. Print the models using a 3D printer:

    • Adapter: Quest2 Drink Holder Adapter
    • Cup: Quest2 Drink Holder Cup
    • Cover: Quest2 Drink Holder Cover

  3. Insert the adapter through the cup and attach it to the controller.

  4. Remove the cap and label from the plastic bottle, and attach the cover to the drinking side of the plastic bottle. It is easier to attach while slightly compressing the plastic bottle.

  5. Place the plastic bottle into the cup and attach the cover to the rim of the cup.

  6. Import the 3D model of the plastic bottle into NEOS VR and adjust its size and the position for grabbing. Adjustments may be required each time you release the grab.
    β€» If importing the 3D model into VRChat, you will need to use tools like Unity.

Important Notes

  • Please avoid swinging or applying excessive force to the drink holder.
  • By gluing the gap between the cup and the adapter, it reduces the likelihood of the controller getting wet when liquid spills.
  • Be careful not to let condensation or water spill.
  • There is a possibility of scratching, denting, or damaging the Quest 2.
  • We do not assume any responsibility for any disadvantages or damages caused by the drink holder. Please use it at your own risk.
  • Non-commercial use is allowed. Selling or using it for commercial purposes is prohibited.
