3D model description

Junkyard Robot is an intergalactic android assembled from random discarded parts.

This model was replicated from an original metal sculpture (shown fully coloured in the pictures) - but with additional pieces to enhance model strength.

The un-scaled version stands at a whopping 377mm high (over a foot) but can be printed using a 3D printer with only 160mm x 160mm bed area. In fact, I printed the entire model (except for the circular base) on a Flashforge Finder with only 140mm x 140mm x 140mm build volume! (although I had to make a slice on each arm). Each piece easily fits together with comfortable connection tolerances.

This is a very easy multi-part assembly with instructions shown as last image! There are even notches in the leg and arm connections to ensure it poses exactly as shown (or break them off and pose it as you will).

Print out each piece, assemble and paint!
Got a printer that can go to 400mm tall? - Print the included full model in one go!

3D printing settings

Each STL has been pre-oriented to optimal print orientation.
Keep bridging on.
Use supports (although very limited supports are required for the most part).
For the leg spring models, auto-add supports then remove them from the middle area (leaving only the supports on the outer helical part).

Use PLA, ABS or any other hard plastic.

Use suitable build-plate adhesion (use rafts if need be).
