GRUNT// GI Joe // O-Ring Action Figure

Need a good army-builder for your Joes? Grunt is your man! Fully articulated to match his original '82 and subsequent '83 release, he comes complete with recreated accessories!!!

This figure is a brand new sculpt, using the original figure and accessories for reference. For funsies, I've included both '82 straight-arm AND '83 swivel-arm options. All of Grunt's original accessories are here: helmet, backpack, and M-16!!

This download includes multiple possible figure configurations, including:
- 1982 Straight-Arms with Swivel-Neck Torso and Head;
- 1983 Swivel-Arms with Swivel-Neck Torso and Head;
- 2024 Vintage Compatible Swivel-Arms, with Ball-Neck Torso and Head.

The 1982/1983 options are included in the original (larger) ZIP file, which also includes the figure's legs, hips, and accessories. The 2024 components are included in a separate, smaller ZIP file bearing the "Ball-Neck Parts" designation.

Please note: legs, hips, and accessories are compatible with each of the above head/torso/arm configurations. The 1982 and 1983 arms are NOT compatible with the ball-neck torso.

Please note -- finished construction of this figure will require additional hardware, including T-hook, O-ring, screws, and rivets. All of these items can be found through the links below. I don't have any connection to these sellers -- these are simply what I use for my own custom G.I. Joe builds.

3D printing settings

To date, I've only printed my figures on an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro resin printer. I like to print them in white (I've been using Anycubic ECO resin), then stain the pieces before curing. For white resin, I print at .02 mm layer height, with a 2-second exposure time. Prior to curing, I also recommend using a small drill bit to help clean out any excess resin in the rivet/screw holes.

I recommend orienting the arm and leg pieces at 60 degrees. For best results, be sure to orient pieces in order to keep supports away from the figure's joints. All of the joints/connections are optimized to eliminate (or at least greatly reduce) the need for sanding.

SETTINGS:
Using White AnyCubic ECO resin in an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro printer, I use the following settings:

Layer Height: .02 mm
Bottom Layer Count: 5
Exposure Time: 2.2 s
Bottom Exposure Time: 35 s
